What an awesome and logical question,
we could ask ourselves, all our lives through.
When we stand in the face of dilemma,
we should ask, then, “What Jesus Would Do?”
If he’s rooted in all of our choices,
then we never would choose incorrect.
If we listen to what he informs us.
If our hearts, and his, just could connect.
If we showed his great love and compassion,
and we spread it wherever we’d go.
If we did what we knew would be moral.
Guilt and shame we would surely not know.
If we followed Christ’s shining example,
Saw the world through his Heavenly eyes,
Every day we’d be more and more like him.
More humble! More noble! More wise!
He gave us his manual to learn from.
His Word, brought to life in a book.
Instructions on how to be like him.
It’s really worth taking a look.
He’s trained others to help you and teach you.
But the thing that will stand you apart.
Is the day you let Jesus take over.
Let him live in your soul and your heart.
Let him deal with the blunt of your anger.
Let him calm, just, what frustrates you most.
Let him cast out the sin which infects you.
Let him fill you with Heavenly Ghost.
Don’t resist him. Just let him take over.
Yes, at first it might be a bit strange.
But watch how the world that you live in,
is affected by, how that, you change.
Christ changes lives every second.
We’re just one of his Heavenly chores.
In case he’s not done it already,
ask him in, that he start changing yours.
You could learn from his wisdom and knowledge.
You could learn from his shining example.
Before you shoot down what I’m saying.
Could you, please, at least give it a sample.
It’s a long road that you’ll have to travel.
You will make many, regretting mistakes.
Life isn’t real fair, very often.
Be prepared for some really tough breaks.
The next time that something confronts you,
even if this is totally new.
Give some thought, as you wait for the answer.
Once you’ve asked you “What Jesus Would Do?”
