Since I have acknowledged that Christ is my savior,
it’s strongly affected my thoughts and behavior.
I’ve taken up fishing as just one committment to God.
Salvation is what I have used for my bait.
My hook is the question of every man’s fate.
God’s Son and his Word are my tackle, my reel and my rod.
Fishing for men is like fishing for fish.
You don’t catch as many as what you might wish.
You might go for days, maybe weeks, without even one bite.
Then a hungry one comes and grabs on to your bait.
Your patience was worth every bit of the wait.
There’s some, reel in easy, while others put up a good fight.
It’s sad but it’s true, I am sorry to say.
You can’t catch them all. There’ll be some, get away.
That is no reason at all for a person to quit.
There’s those, you will try, but will never pull in.
So you keep casting over and over again.
It’s only a matter of time til you get that big hit.
As for me, I can say that the fishings been fine.
I got a few fish at the end of my line.
I ain’t got ‘em into the boat, (to the Lord), as of yet.
But I’ve other men fishing, with me, by my side.
Who, too, love their fishing and do it with pride.
Anxious to aid me and ready to help with the net.
Now, for me, fishing’s something that’s totally new.
It’s what I believe God would have me to do.
Although it’s a challenge it gives me a joyous reward.
There’s nothing more pleasing or downright exciting,
than days when the fish are abundant and biting,
reeling them in and then bringing them unto the Lord.
I hope I’ve inspired, in you, a new mission.
I hope you will think about doin some fishin.
You might even have a few tips you could share unto me.
Grab your rod and your reel. Grab some bait and a net.
We need all of the help we are able to get.
There’s too many lonely, lost fish swimming round in the sea.
