SPIRITUAL FOOD FOR THOUGHT

A New Life He Had Bought For Me

I lived many years, of my life, all alone.
Sure I had fam’ly.  Some friendships had grown.
But looking back now on the seeds I have sown.
The years that went by, with my Lord, so unknown.

Were troubled and hurtful and lonely sad.
The good that I did was much less than the bad.
I think of the life I’d have possibly had,
had Christ been in me as a shining young lad.

I’m sure I’d have traveled a much diff’rent course.
I know I’d not have all this guilt and remorse.
My name would be one I’d be proud to endorse.
Had I been enabled by God’s mighty force.

It’s harder to know God, when so long without.
I try but I fail in releasing all doubt.
Still, I am happy, I’m on the right route.
I fin’ly am learning what life’s all about.

It’s serving a loving and wonderful Lord.
Witnessing proudly, a Savior adored.
Christ paid a price I could never afford.
How strange he should offer this sinner reward.

He’d bought me a new life.  He knows my frustration.
He eases my burdens and life’s aggravation.
I thank him so much for my soul and creation.
For giving his life that I might have salvation.
