COUCH POTATO KARATE

Let’s Loosen Them Muscles Up Slowly

Lots of people lift weights as they train to be strong.
One thing most neglect which is so very wrong.
Is stretching those muscles before they feel strain.
Which leads to most injuries, setbacks and pain.

It’s good to be loose and be stretched head to toe.
Being loose is a feeling so many don’t know.
Each day you should stretch every muscle you can.
Getting limber must be a big part of your plan.

Your performance enhances by getting you loose.
Your less likely to sprain or strain; injure or bruise.
It is when we stop moving, old age takes its toll.
With that thought alone, let’s make stretching our goal.

While you stretch, practice breathing.  Relax as you go.
Start by grabbing and stretching each finger and toe.
Put pressure by bending them back and then forth.
From the east to the West—from the South to the North.

Rotation’s another way to stretch you out good.
Pay heed to the pain.  Take no more than you should.
Hold on to each stretch for ten seconds or so.
Keep the pressure consistent, then slowly let go.

After three of four times, move on to your next.
Making loose all those spots where the bones all connects.
Your neck and your back and your hips are just some.
Your ankles and wrist; elbows, knees and each thumb.

You can stretch all your muscles while agility grows.
Yet you won’t miss one part of your favorite shows.
Be aware of each joint as you stretch it, take care.
If you stretch it too far, you will injure it there.

By the time that you finish a half hour show.
You’ll be loose as a goose from your head to your toe.
The more that you stretch, then the looser you’ll get.
This alone, you’ll feel better—I am willing to bet.
